We've made some changes to the way Harper tags orders in your Shopify store. This document explains what's new, what's changing, and what your team needs to do before 1 June 2026.
These changes were driven by feedback from finance teams across our partners. We heard that it wasn't always easy to know when a Harper order was ready to reconcile, and that the existing tags didn't give finance teams enough clarity at a glance. The new tag structure directly addresses this, introducing dedicated finance and payments tags and a clear signal for when an order is ready to audit.
Do you need to take action?
Where to find tags in Shopify
Harper order tags appear in the Tags panel (bottom right) on each order detail page in your Shopify admin. They update automatically throughout the order lifecycle and can be used as filters when generating reports or managing order lists.
New tags, live now
All new tags use a consistent hrp/ prefix, making Harper activity easy to identify and filter. Tags are grouped into three types: status, service, and finance, so your team always knows exactly what each one means.
Top-level tag
Present on every Harper order, regardless of service or status.
Applied to every Harper order. Use this to filter all Harper activity in your store.
Service type tags
Present on every Harper order. Identifies which service was used.
Order placed via Harper Try
Order placed via Harper Concierge
Status tags
One status tag appears on an order at a time. It updates as the order progresses.
Order placed, items not yet with the customer
Customer currently has the items, try-on period is active
Try-on period complete, items returned or purchased
Order cancelled
Finance & payments tags
These are new tags introduced specifically to give finance and operations teams a clearer view of where each order stands. Rather than inferring payment status from order state, you now have a dedicated set of tags that track the financial position of every Harper order, including a clear flag when an order is ready to reconcile.
Items are on their way, not yet with the customer
Customer has the items, try-on period active, not yet financially settled
Returns received at the warehouse, refund not yet processed
Order placed on hold by Harper, no action needed from your side
Try-on complete, funds available, awaiting final warehouse confirmation
All items purchased or confirmed returned. This order is ready to reconcile.
Old tags, retiring 1 June 2026
If anyone in your team, or a developer who manages your reports, is currently filtering on the tags below, those references will need updating before 1 June 2026. We've noted the new equivalent for each one to make that as straightforward as possible.
The following tags will stop being applied after 1 June 2026. Both old and new tags are currently running in parallel to give you time to make the switch.
Now: hrp/service/try
Now: hrp/service/concierge
Now: hrp/status/new
Now: hrp/status/in_trial
Now: hrp/status/trial_ended
Now: hrp/payments/reconcilable
Now: hrp/status/trial_ended + hrp/payments/reconcilable
Now: hrp/status/cancelled
If you need to pass these changes to a developer or analyst to update your reports, we're happy to help make that process as smooth as possible.
